Scroll Stencils: Grotesque Panel

This design has been adapted from an embroidered panel that can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum. It dates from around 1551. It may have originally formed part of a set of bed hangings made for the king Edward VI. This panel can be tiled horizontally and vertically.

Detail from the finished tablecloth that can been seen in our gallery section. I used bronze fabric paint on black material. Six repeats of the whole design were needed to complete the tablecloth.
